The Aclara STAR® Network High-Read Rate Meter Transmission Unit (MTU)
STAR Network high-read rate water and gas MTUs allow utilities to create and analyze hourly usage profiles for high-end customers to reduce costs, improve billing, and manage resources.
High-read rate MTUs take meter readings hourly, store them in the MTU, and transmit them four times per day to the system’s network control computer. Powerful, narrow-band transmitters broadcast over FCC-licensed 450- to 470-MHz radio frequencies.
STAR Network high-read rate MTUs are compatible with most commercially available gas meters and with pulse-register water meters that provide electronic output.
